Welcome to the Village of Green Oaks

IBernard Wysocki would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Green Oaks internet site. Hopefully our site will provide you with needed information about the village of Green Oaks. The Village of Green Oaks is a small and proud community approximately 30 miles north of O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois. Our community is rich in tradition that affords the pleasantries of quiet country living, excellent schools, access to major highways and tollways, single family home on large lots, all complemented by our growing commercial and retail business district.

If you are just browsing or are looking for specific information, our site has much to offer. I hope you will enjoy the information we have provided. If there is something you wish to find out about our village, you may send specific questions to vilgrnoaks@aol.com for an appropriate reply.

Sincerely,
Bernard Wysocki
Mayor of Green Oaks

2019 Road Improvement Project

This project is now underway!

  • Res. Engineer: RHMG Engineers, Inc
  • Scope of Work: Milling, Pulverization, and Full Depth Reclamation with cement sterilizations along 8.26 miles of Village roads. Includes cross-road culvert replacement, curb repairs, and manhole adjustments
  • Location: 1. North of Rt 137  2. Rt 137 to Atkinson Rd  3. South of Atkinson Rd
  • Contract Time: 75 Working Days - September 2019 (Weather permitting)

Progress continues to be made on the 2019 Road Improvement Project. Updates for specific project areas are below:

Update as of 8/16/2019 at 2pm

Saddle Hill – Landscape restoration along the shoulders was completed on Monday, and the last driveway in Carriage Ct was paved today.  The signs will be removed early next week.  If you have any concerns regarding the work adjacent to your property, please let us know so that it can be addressed.

Greenbrier – Installation of the final surface lift of asphalt was completed on Wednesday and Thursday.  Final driveway apron paving has started, and will continue tomorrow and on Monday, as well as brick driveway replacement, shouldering, and landscaping.  If you have any concerns regarding the work adjacent to your property, please let us know so that it can be addressed.

Pearson/Crest/Benson – In preparation for installation of the surface lift of asphalt, the remaining concrete driveways were completed as well as the asphalt driveway prep.  Shoulder stone and surface paving may start later next week, depending on scheduling of paving crews.

Margate/Hawthorn – The ditching along Hawthorn is being completed today, and the first lift of shoulder stone may occur later next week.  Paving will follow, potentially later next week.  Hawthorn residents will be notified individually because they will not have access to their driveways for about 4 hours while the surface is installed.

Forest Lake/Forest Cove – The contractor plans to complete the milling and paving later in August.

Reigate Woods – Baker’s concrete subcontractor has completed the removals, and is pouring the balance of the curb today.  Forms will be removed and access restored on Monday, 8/19.  Please reach out to RHMG with any concerns.   Milling and paving will be scheduled in early September.

Tantara – The concrete contractor has saw cut all the curb removals, and will be starting the removals later next week.  If there will be interruptions to driveway access, at least 24 hours of advance notice will be provided.   Please reach out to RHMG with any concerns.

Hanlon/Guerin – There are no updates to report for this project area at this time, but it will be completed this year.

We understand that everyone is anxious to have the roads repaired.  Completing the work within a tighter time frame is preferred to an extended construction period with intermittent work to minimize inconvenience. All the roads included in this year's contracts will be completed this year.

Thank you for your patience during construction & continuing to keep vehicle speeds down through the construction zones for everyone’s safety. Please remember to keep windows closed while work is in progress due to dusty conditions.
