Welcome to the Village of Green Oaks

IBernard Wysocki would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Green Oaks internet site. Hopefully our site will provide you with needed information about the village of Green Oaks. The Village of Green Oaks is a small and proud community approximately 30 miles north of O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois. Our community is rich in tradition that affords the pleasantries of quiet country living, excellent schools, access to major highways and tollways, single family home on large lots, all complemented by our growing commercial and retail business district.

If you are just browsing or are looking for specific information, our site has much to offer. I hope you will enjoy the information we have provided. If there is something you wish to find out about our village, you may send specific questions to vilgrnoaks@aol.com for an appropriate reply.

Update as of: 7/23/2021

Contract A (Healtercliff, Shannondale, Irondale, Harwood, Woodview & Red Fox):
Campanella and Sons completed the culvert replacements under Guerin Road, Shannondale Drive, and Heathercliff Drive this week.  Heathercliff Drive will remain closed at the culvert crossing until Saturday morning to permit the backfill material placed Friday afternoon to cure.  Campanella will be working Saturday and into mid-week next week on the Heathercliff Drive bend and other culvert crossings.  Peter Baker and Sons is scheduled to mobilize to start shoulder excavation the week of August 2.

Contract B (Minard, Park Hill, Crescent Knoll & Margate):
Schroeder completed the shoulder excavation, pulverizing, grading and shaping this week.  Final preparatory work is slated for Monday.  Placement of the first layer of asphalt is scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Crescent Knoll, Margate Lane, and Park Hill Drive will all be paved in one pass to eliminate the center joint.  Access to/from driveways during the paving will be interrupted for up to 45 minutes.   Flaggers will direct traffic during the work and provide information. If you have an appointment or need to get in/out at a certain time, please contact the resident engineer, Ben Metzler at 847-525-9006.  If the weather cooperates, next week is slated to be a very busy week for this project.

SWALCO Update: Residential Waste Collection Services

The waste industry is indicating it is operating at nearly full capacity and is still able to provide regular collection for garbage and recyclables. One service that has been impacted throughout Lake County is the collection of bulky items or large items left outside of the garbage container, which will no longer be collected unless the material is placed in a rigid container or plastic bag.  The waste industry has told us they made this decision based on the safety of its drivers.  For specific information on the status of bulky item collection in your community please check the SWALCO Neighborhood Program Community Website (Green Oaks)
