Welcome to the Village of Green Oaks

IBernard Wysocki would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Green Oaks internet site. Hopefully our site will provide you with needed information about the village of Green Oaks. The Village of Green Oaks is a small and proud community approximately 30 miles north of O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois. Our community is rich in tradition that affords the pleasantries of quiet country living, excellent schools, access to major highways and tollways, single family home on large lots, all complemented by our growing commercial and retail business district.

If you are just browsing or are looking for specific information, our site has much to offer. I hope you will enjoy the information we have provided. If there is something you wish to find out about our village, you may send specific questions to vilgrnoaks@aol.com for an appropriate reply.

~ News & Events ~

The Village's 1st Annual Cars & Coffee event was a success! Residents brought a variety of cars from old cars to new cars to sports cars. It was great to see residents interact with Village Trustees, Plan Commission members, office staff and other residents. A big thank you to North Shore Adult Diapers for hosting the event in their parking lot, Lambs Farms for providing coffee, drinks and breakfast food, and North Shore Distillery for providing their samples of Irish Coffee. The Village can't wait for next year's event and a date has already been scheduled! Please keep your calendars open for the 2nd Annual Cars & Coffee on SEPTEMBER 19TH, 2022!

Local traffic will have access from IL 176 south to the railroad crossing and from IL 60 north to the railroad crossing. The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic.

Surface paving was completed throughout the project area this week.  Driveway apron matches have been started and will continue through mid-week next week, along with the final lift of aggregate shoulder. Landscaping will follow the shoulder, but we do not have a timeframe for that work yet

SWALCO Update: Residential Waste Collection Services

The waste industry is indicating it is operating at nearly full capacity and is still able to provide regular collection for garbage and recyclables. One service that has been impacted throughout Lake County is the collection of bulky items or large items left outside of the garbage container, which will no longer be collected unless the material is placed in a rigid container or plastic bag.  The waste industry has told us they made this decision based on the safety of its drivers.  For specific information on the status of bulky item collection in your community please check the SWALCO Neighborhood Program Community Website (Green Oaks)
