Welcome to the Village of Green Oaks

IBernard Wysocki would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Green Oaks internet site. Hopefully our site will provide you with needed information about the village of Green Oaks. The Village of Green Oaks is a small and proud community approximately 30 miles north of O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois. Our community is rich in tradition that affords the pleasantries of quiet country living, excellent schools, access to major highways and tollways, single family home on large lots, all complemented by our growing commercial and retail business district.

If you are just browsing or are looking for specific information, our site has much to offer. I hope you will enjoy the information we have provided. If there is something you wish to find out about our village, you may send specific questions to vilgrnoaks@aol.com for an appropriate reply.

Sincerely,
Bernard Wysocki
Mayor of Green Oaks

Municipal Tax Referendum

  • On the November 6th election ballot, a "Public Question On Property Tax For General Corporate Fund” will appear proposing an additional tax of 0.0928% of the equalized assessed value of the taxable property be assessed.  A single family residence & having a fair market value at the time of the referendum of $100,000 is estimated to be $30.93.  100% Of This Tax Will Be Used For Roads
  • Should the Municipal Tax Referendum pass, the approximate amount of taxes extendable is $259,917.  The Mayor and the Village Board have authorized an additional $1 million dollars from the General Fund to be devoted to road repair, allowing for approximately 6 miles of road repair over the next two years.
  • Fixing roads before failure saves 30-50% in repair costs.  If a road fails it will take longer to repair and cost more.
