2024 Village Road Improvement Program

The Village’s 2024 RIP project will start in June and is expected to complete in Mid-August affecting the Brookhaven, Creekside, and Arbor Lakes subdivisions.

The scope of the project includes:

    • Pavement resurfacing of all streets.
    • Concrete curb & gutter spot repairs, with driveway pavement replacement, as needed adjacent to curb & gutter repairs.
    • Storm sewer repairs.

Roads will remain open during construction, though there will be temporary lane closures and associated delays.  No overnight road/lane closures are anticipated.

Notification will be provided to residents prior to work beginning in their subdivision via Blackboard Connect. Residents will also be notified prior to any work beginning that will affect their driveway access, detailing the start date and anticipated duration of the work.  Curb replacement adjacent to driveways may result in interruption of access for three days while the concrete cures.

J.A. Johnson Paving Company is the qualified low bidder and was awarded the contract for the project.   The Village will have a representative on site during the duration of the project.  Luke Haase with Clark Dietz, Inc. will be the primary contact for the project. If you have any questions about the project, please contact Ben Metzler with Clark Dietz at 847-525-9006 or Luke Haase at 262-842-2422.

The Village will have an open house on Tuesday, May 21st from 6 pm to 7 pm at Village Hall (2020 O’Plaine Road) to address any questions or concerns regarding the project.

Snowplow

Snow will be plowed when accumulation is greater than 1” on main streets and 2” on side streets.

Major intersections will always be salted during a plow event.

In the event of icy conditions, neighborhoods and side streets will be salted.

Any mailbox damaged by the contractor will be repaired or replaced with a temporary mailbox. Any related damages will be reimbursed up to $50 maximum.

The contractor will be inspecting all mailboxes to determine current mailbox conditions.

All claims must be made within 5 (five) days of damage.

Consider marking areas of property and cover plants that are a concern for possible snowplow damage.

Please keep your garbage and recycle containers off the street during a plow event.

Residents are responsible for clearing snow and ice from the public sidewalk adjacent to their property. Please be courteous when operating a snow blower so as not to disturb your neighbors.
